American rapper Rich Homie Quan is no more.

The rapper, real name Dequantes Devontay Lamar, passed away on September 5. He was 34.

Billboard reports that a Fulton County Medical Examiner said the cause of his death was still unknown as they are yet to conduct an autopsy.

One of Quan’s close friends, Quavo, confirmed his passing on Instagram. He posted a picture of them and wrote: “May God be with us, never saw this being part of our journey”.

While the music fraternity and fans continue to send their tributes on social media, one of Quan’s former colleagues, @ColourfulMula, reminded fans about the Rich Gang days, when the “Lifestyle” hitmaker was still part of the group with Birdman and Young Thug.

“Rest in peace, Rich Homie Quan. Original photo from the Rich Gang album cover. I shot this in the studio along with Thug's photo and designed the album cover the same night.

“The boy was in that studio knocking songs out 24/7, work ethic was knocked between them and all the producers and engineers. What a time. rest up bruh,” said Mula.

Most of his fans remember him as one of the realest rappers who influenced the college lifestyle.

“If you are from the South or went to school in the South, you know how much Rich Homie Quan shaped many of our college experiences in some shape, form or fashion.

“You couldn’t hit a kickback or function without hearing him come through the speakers,” said @itsjustruff.

Another fan, @ih8MORGZ, wrote: “Rich Homie Quan had his own era in Atlanta. Even if you didn’t f*ck with him, you had to respect his whole aura.

“That man ain’t bother nobody & he didn’t fake a persona like the rest of these rappers. IDC [I don’t care] what nobody says, this sh*t is very f*cked up. Sad day for the city.”
