A 33-year-old bus driver was shot and killed in Westham, Phoenix earlier today.
Prem Balram, the head of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), said members of the security company were called out to the scene just after 5am.
He said on arrival, they found the bus had been partially off the road.
“The driver had been shot multiple times and died prior to the arrival of first responders. It was alleged that three occupants of a white Toyota Etios opened fire on the bus before they sped off. There were no passengers in the bus at the time of the shooting,” said Balram.
He said the motive was unknown at this stage.
