During the month of June, Kurland Hotel, near Plettenberg Bay, completed a soft refurbishment of all its 12 suites and public areas. With owner Peter Behr and a strong management team heading up the Kurland team, the Hotel is repositioning itself in the marketplace with a fresh new look.

Part of the soft refurbishment includes new carpets, luxurious sofas, curtains and the finest of bed linen. Historical buildings including the main Homestead have been repainted, patios resurfaced and the tennis court also resurfaced in preparation for spring.

Guests will also enjoy new flat screen televisions discreetly placed in the suites, complimentary wi-fi internet access in all suites, including the comprehensive library and a new menu created by Head Chef, Leon Coetzee that caters for all dietary requirements, including vegetarians, has been implemented while the children’s organic herb and vegetable garden educational demonstration has been extended.

Adding to the refurbishment the new rates have also been released – from now until the end of September 2011 guests staying in an Elegant Suite pay just R1, 250.00 per person (no charge to children up to the age of 12) which includes a full breakfast, all non-alcoholic beverages, teas and coffees, use of the Therapy Suite facilities (sauna, steam room and gym), transfers to Nature’s Valley beach, wireless internet access in all rooms and the library, quad and mountain bikes, tennis courts, the Café Complet consisting of tea, coffee, cakes and pastries served on the Verandah throughout the day, tea and coffee delivered to the Suites with a wake-up call on request and complimentary children’s Shetland pony rides (aged 1 – 6). Comments Owner, Peter Behr, “At Kurland Hotel we pride ourselves on our unique setting in this magnificent Estate, from the spacious suites, each with its own unique décor, the bespoke children’s lofts, a safe family environment boasting many activities including our equestrian facilities and our monthly food and beverage experiences for in house guests and local South African residents. We believe that we have now enhanced all these elements and refreshed Kurland’s classic interior decor with the contemporary feel of the fabrics selected yet retained our individuality for creating a true home away from home.”

Kurland’s new Facebook page will offer news of special events, such as the monthly Chef’s Tables and culinary evenings as well as new promotions planned for the year ahead.
