Africa's foremost industrialist, Aliko Dangote, is set to deliver the keynote address at Africa in the World.

This esteemed event, curated by Pulitzer-winning journalist Dele Olojede, has become a paramount dialogue platform for innovative and sustainable solutions tailored to the African continent.

On the horizon for this unique gathering taking place at the picturesque Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch, South Africa, is an anticipated talk by Dangote that will focus on the themes of obstacle crossings and African integration.

Drawing from his extensive experience traversing the complex landscape of business on the continent, Dangote will share insights that aim to guide Africa towards a more interconnected and economically sound future.

Known for his prowess in constructing solutions that address local challenges, Dangote has made significant strides with his business ventures. His flagship project, the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, stands as a monument to ingenuity.

Designed to tackle Nigeria's pressing fuel crisis, the refinery's successful operation illustrates a remarkable turnaround for the nation, which, despite being a leading oil producer, historically relied heavily on the import of refined petroleum products. The recent export of 320,000 barrels of gasoline from Nigeria to the Port of New York further cements Dangote's vision of an Africa capable of competing on the global stage.

“This achievement showcases not only Africa’s ability to meet the highest energy standards but also its growing role in supplying the global market,” Dangote remarked, demonstrating his commitment to elevating the continent's standing in international trade.

At Africa in the World, he will expand on what it truly means to foster a more connected and prosperous Africa, sharing his vision and strategies for overcoming barriers and enhancing collaboration across nations.

The gathering is set to be a rich tapestry of voices, featuring prominent African luminaries including artist William Kentridge, former finance minister Trevor Manuel, and esteemed statesman Olara Otunnu, among others.

Together, they will contribute their thoughts on various sectors, reflecting the inclusive ethos of the festival, which embraces music, art, and literature deeply within its framework.

Since its inception in 2019, where it attracted 150 guests and 60 speakers from 19 countries, Africa in the World has grown significantly, returning post-pandemic with renewed vigour and purpose in 2023.

The 2024 edition built on the foundation laid by its predecessors, leading to an exciting fourth festival scheduled for 2025 at the same historical venue.

Throughout its four-day experience, Africa in the World strives to achieve the perfect integration of human hearts and minds, tackling relevant issues while celebrating the continent’s rich cultural heritage.
